Cologne,
Germany: July 25
We arrived in
Cologne at 2 am while we were sleeping.
The included walking tour began at 9 am but we opted out as we decided
to do this one on our own. Cologne is a
larger city; not one of the little villages that we have previously
visited. The Cologne Cathedral, towering
over the city, is a highlight. We headed
there first and were treated to beautiful organ music which made our inside
visit really special to me.
Following this we wandered the streets filled with cafes and shops. As sail away time was 12:30 pm, we were back onboard rather quickly! Being a “wanna be” chef, I partook in the Galley Tour with Chef Attila. I’ve been on ocean cruise vessel galley tours so wanted to see this little galley… it was quite small in comparison but remember that there are only 140 or so passengers on this ship! It was fun to see and to chat with the Chef… the tour only lasted about 5 minutes! LOL!

Again, prior to
dinner there was another wine tasting (since this WAS a wine cruise) but we
opted out as the wine flows freely at dinner and the Captain’s Cocktail party
was scheduled for 6:30!
